I find Rev. Tong exposition of Heb 14:4 very good. In a world that is sex crazed, Christians (myself included) often get confused over sexual purity. Rev. Tong spoke about immorality in the context of pre & extra marital sex. Although this is important, sin like pornography and masturbation which are easier to commit in solitude are not discussed in detail. These sins can be destructive and adictive. http://www.settingcaptivesfree.com is a Christian web site that deals with these problems. They say that 600 pastors are currently taking their courses!! Although sin is sin, big or small, some have worse effects. Rev. Tong said that he would refuse to marry a person guilty of pre-marital sex. Would he stop a person from marrying in his church if he/she has masturbated? Some Christians say that masturbation is not a sin but is it not just simulating sex? How do you define pornography? Song of Solomon is quite explicit and describes the female body in ways that not all are comfortable with. If it is converted into a video would that become pornography?
If Rev. Tong can dwell on these issues in his expository preaching it would be nice. His audience is greatly larger than the people who read this website. But I would like to hear your views too.
Thanks for your time in setting up and running this discussion board.
