Hi, Elder Yong. Got a friend who asked me some questions posted by a non-Christian of hers. Like to know your views regarding these. Here are the questions:
1)why we are sure there is only one god and where he
comes from?
2)why he wants to create earth???
3)are we sinful to kill ants, insects?
4)i believe in Jesus and other beliefs too..but not so
supersitious..
Here are some of my observations. Correct me if i am wrong:
1) 'i believe in Jesus and other beliefs too..but not so
supersitious..' From what i know, my friend's friend does not truly know Jesus as if he did, he would not have other beliefs.
Did checked out the meaning of believe in dictionary. It says 'is to trust, to consider to be true, honest or real' and 'to have confidence in the value of' In terms of religions area, it means 'to have a firm religious faith.
The person seems to be contradicting as he is superstitous himself from the statement he made as he hold other beliefs too. Just like it's better to have many than to have one only. It's like telling one's wife that i am not being not faithful, just that i love you and other woman at the same time.. ( hehe.., don't know if this illustrations fits. )
2) There is many gods in this world, i would answer but there is One and Only Truth in the world and that for many centuries, philosopher had been searching for the ultimate Truth that governs the universe.
i believe that only the Bible have the answer to this, and i really like the direct and straight-forward answer given in John 1:1-3, 14:6, 17:17. All these points to the only One God, Jesus Himself.
3) He does not come from anywhere, for there is nothing or no place that is created can a Creator comes from. He is who he is.
4) As for why he create earth, i am not too sure of it except i know that we, as created beings, has no right to ask why a Creator, creates us. The Creator has every reason to do so w/o seeking a creature's opinion.
As for the question if we are sinful if we kill ants or insects, i really had no idea how to answer appropriately..
Hope you'll enlighten me on how do we answer appropriately to non-Christians regarding this. Somehow, i feel that my answer would be understandable to Christians as we already have faith as our basis. Non- Christians, however tends to not believe easily, they will need very logical concepts, which sometimes, just cannot do without the acceptance of faith as the very basis.. How am i suppose to let them know of this?
Thks and Take care.
God Bless,
