Dear Elder Yong,

Need to find out something from you about Christian liturgy.
The song 'PRAISE GOD, FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW' is sung as the Doxology in many churches. (Lyrics : Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.)
Understand that it was composed some 500 yrs ago and I believe that this is a great sacred music. May I know why this song was chosen for worship service and why at the end of it ? What is the important message for us as we sing it at the end of our service when we are 'sent back to the world'. How does the message of the song fit in at this juncture of the service or does it have another message to convey ? About triune God, church unity, ... or what ? Why is it sung as the Doxology ? Can it be sung at the beginning ?
Would be glad if you could enlighten me on this. Thanks.

sy
