Thanx Elder Yong for your answer. Indeed we should fear God and God alone, well said.
More questions:
1. Reformed Christians - what are they? I am from a Methodist church, am I "reformed"? Is it a kind of "bang pai" (pronounce in mandarin, pls excuse my english)
2. Some other churches practise those spiritual stuff actively, in their prayers, they always pray to "cast out spirits of illness', "spirit of so so and so" etc. I suppose that reformed Christians should see this as mistakes by those churches. If these are not spiritual activities, then what have they been? Maybe most of these cases are sincere mistakes by the churches, but can there be genuine cases of possession that we really cannot tell because of our genuine ignorance or inexperience? You said you have not seen a case of possession, but will you be able to tell if someone in front is indeed possessed? True that the bible also did not tell us much about the symptoms.
3. Reformed Christians do not believe in further revelations other than the bible. would they believe that there are people today, are given the gifts of vision, to the extent of prophecies? If there are people claiming to have these gifts, what would you make of them? I know of people who claim such but are respectable, God fearing men and have complete integrity. certainly not liar becos i know them. can be evil spirits' works? If these people are sincerely mistaken, what caused them to claim the gifts?
4. Peter's case in Matt 16:23, was it a possession?
Thanx again.
